Starting in early 2025, Aiken Technical College’s new advanced manufacturing mobile lab will expand opportunities for education and training beyond the main physical campus.
The mobile lab is equipped with tools such as mechanical assembly stations, electrical systems trainers, and programmable logic controllers, which can be used to provide hands-on training in industrial maintenance, electronics engineering, and production operations. The lab can accommodate up to 12 students at a time.
The college will work with education and workforce partners regarding training offerings.
The mobile lab is funded through the Strengthening Community Colleges Training grant, a collaborative effort between Aiken Technical College, Piedmont Technical College, and Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College. The goal of the grant is to create engaging, flexible, and accelerated models to enhance and expand our workforce in nursing, health sciences, and advanced manufacturing.
