Authority and Mission
Aiken Technical College’s Campus Security Department welcomes you to campus. The ATC Security Office is located in Building 650.
The Campus Security Department is a contracted security force empowered by the College to enforce its rules, regulations, and policies and is committed to providing professional services to the ATC community. Our effectiveness is largely dependent upon the assistance and cooperation of everyone in our campus community. Contracted Campus Security Officers, administration, faculty, and staff members strive to promote open communication and maintain an atmosphere of courtesy, fairness, and concern.
The safety and well-being of our community members is always at the top of our agenda. A safe campus can only be achieved through the cooperation of our campus community as a whole. The majority of crimes on campus are crimes of opportunity. The willingness of our campus population to secure their property and to report suspicious activity is essential to the prevention of these thefts. Our goal is to prevent crimes from occurring and to respond and provide assistance once a crime has occurred.
Services
Contracted Campus Security Officer(s) provide services during the College's operating hours. These services include emergency response to crimes in progress or life-threatening incidents, response to medical emergencies, foot patrol, security escort services, lost and found, and limited parking lot assistance.

Parking Regulations
Any vehicle parked on campus must have a current parking pass decal. Parking pass decals should be placed on the inside of the glass in the lower corner on the driver’s side. Students may obtain parking pass decals from the Enrollment Center. Any student using a handicapped parking space for any reason must have a valid handicapped permit issued by the state in which they reside in addition to an Aiken Technical College decal. The posted speed limit on campus is 15 mph and must be observed.
Any vehicle bearing a student parking pass decal must be parked in a student parking area while on campus. Any student attending both ATC and USC Aiken with a valid decal from either college should park in a student parking space at both schools, not in a visitor parking space. Currently enrolled students cannot park in a visitor parking space at any time, regardless of the purpose or length of time for which they will be parked. ATC’s Security officers have full authority to enforce ATC’s parking regulations.
The initial appeal of any violation should be made at the ATC Security Office (Building 650).
Any student with outstanding parking fines will not be allowed to register or to receive grades or transcripts.
Parking fines double after five working days.
