The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration Steering Committee is seeking nominations for its annual Human and Civil Rights Community Champion awards through December 1.

NBA legend and South Carolina native Alex English will provide the keynote address at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 21, at the University of South Carolina Aiken Convocation Center, 2049 Champion Way, Graniteville.

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration Steering Committee awarded several honors during its annual event on Sunday, January 22, presented by Aiken Technical College and the University of South Carolina Aiken.

U.S. House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn will be the keynote speaker for the 2022 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration.

The event, presented by Aiken Technical College and the University of South Carolina Aiken, will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at the USC Aiken Convocation Center, 2049 Champion Way, Graniteville, SC 29829.

Doors will open at 2:30 p.m., followed by the event at 3 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
