Aiken Technical College Announces Revised Mask Policy
Starting June 1, Aiken Technical College (ATC) employees, students, and campus guests will no longer be required to wear masks or physically distance while on campus.
The decision to lift these requirements is in alignment with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) most recent guidance, subject to certain exceptions, that “fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting.”
The College will not require employees, students, or campus guests to be vaccinated.
While masks will no longer be required, the CDC recommends continued use of face coverings or masks for those who are unvaccinated. Each individual may choose whether to wear a mask.
The College will continue to practice its health and safety protocols, including frequent cleaning and disinfecting public spaces and frequently shared items, providing hand sanitizer stations throughout campus, and encouraging good health practices such as frequent hand washing and staying home if ill.
ATC will also continue to monitor guidance from the CDC and the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control and implement health and safety protocols based on the latest information.
