Aiken Technical College Student Named 2022 New Century Workforce Scholar

Ismat Hasan, a student at Aiken Technical College, has been named a 2022 New Century Workforce Scholar and will receive a $1,250 scholarship. New Century Workforce Scholars are selected based on their academic accomplishments, leadership, activities, and how they extend their intellectual talents beyond the classroom. Over 2,200 students were nominated from more than 1,200 college campuses across the country. Only one New Century Workforce Scholar was selected from each state.

Aiken Technical College Employees to Be Recognized During SC Technical Education Association Conference

Several Aiken Technical College (ATC) employees are participating this week in the annual South Carolina Technical Education Association (SCTEA) conference in Myrtle Beach.

SCTEA will recognize Educator of the Year award recipients during the conference, including three ATC employees.

U.S. House Majority Whip to be Keynote Speaker for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration

U.S. House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn will be the keynote speaker for the 2022 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration.

The event, presented by Aiken Technical College and the University of South Carolina Aiken, will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at the USC Aiken Convocation Center, 2049 Champion Way, Graniteville, SC 29829.

Doors will open at 2:30 p.m., followed by the event at 3 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Aiken Tech to host cyber camp this June

Aiken Technical College will host a new camp this June to increase youth’s interest in computer technology and robotics. The Cyber Power Camp, open to rising eighth through 12th graders, will be held June 9-13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Aiken Tech campus. The camp application is open through April 15.
