2025 Human and Civil Rights Champion Award Nominations

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration Steering Committee is seeking nominations for its annual Human and Civil Rights Champion awards through December 1.

The awards recognize those who have demonstrated advocacy and support for diversity, equity, inclusion, and human rights. The honor is awarded to one Aiken County community member and one student from each Aiken Technical College (Aiken Tech) and University of South Carolina Aiken (USCA).

The Human and Civil Rights Champion Award recipients will be recognized during the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration on Sunday, January 26, at the USCA Convocation Center.

Aiken Tech and USCA are the presenters of the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration. The event's steering committee includes area community members, business leaders, and representatives from each institution.
